Amana Colony Trails manages and maintains the recreational trail through grants and the generous contributions from community and surrounding community members/businesses. In addition to these funds, money is also raised through various options mentioned below.
Our goal is to extend the existing trail to link the villages of the Amana Colonies and to connect our trail with other nearby recreational trails in Eastern Iowa while ensuring the Trail continues to excite, engage, and educate visitors now and in the future.

Donation Opportunities
There are several ways for you to support the Amana Colonies Recreational trail with a monetary donation. These gifts—whether to our annual fund, or made as a memorial or planned gift—help our efforts to fulfill our trail expansion mission to connect all colony communities.
Purchase a Personalized Brick or Paving Stone
While creating a wonderful gift for yourself, others or in memorial of someone special, you are also supporting the Trail. These are great gifts for birthdays, graduations, weddings, in memory of etc.

Annual Fund Donations
Annual gifts to the Amana Colonies Recreational trail are essential for trail maintenance, upkeep and future expansion plans. No matter the size of your gift, your donation is the most important support the trail receives. Your gift provides the Trail Committee with the flexibility to allocate funds where they are needed most.
Memorial Gifts
Monetary memorial gifts can be made in honor of a loved one. These gifts recognize a special person, commemorate a birthday or anniversary, or help establish and preserve someone’s legacy. You can also purchase a personalized brick or paving stone (see above) as a wonderful memorial gift. Memorial gifts are allocated to where the support is needed most.
Connecting Communities - Trail Expansion Campaign
Monetary gifts to the Trail Expansion Campaign will fund the opportunity to complete a study to determine the next best expansion of the trail.
Previous (Phase 1 )Extension:

One extension will connect the intersection of highways 151 and 220 to the Lily Lake. The second extension will connect the school with the
historic section of Middle Amana.

In addition to these funds, money is also raised through the Amana Freezer 5k Run/Walk every January during Winterfest in the Amana Colonies, and the Rock the RoRock the Trail Dance held annually during the Amana Colonies Maifest celebration.
